2010 Mission Trip to Ecuador
In May of 2010 Rolla Bible Church was blessed to be able to sponsor a mission trip to Ecuador. Seven men from Rolla Bible Church and "sister church" Hope Bible Church of O'Fallon, Missouri, were able to spend over a week in Ecuador helping sponsored missionaries Andy & Chrissy Shaub build their house. Andy & Chrissy, with New Tribes Mission, are part of a team ministering to the Awa people of North Central Ecuador.
The work was hot and sticky, but worth it. The experience in directly helping one of our missionary families in accomplishing God's work was fulfilling. As well, the direct contact with some of the Awa people put a strong personal touch on the trip.
The remoteness of the mission site in Rio Verde, Ecuador, necessitated a couple of days traveling on each end of the building program, which did allow for some "touristy" things and gave us a huge appreciation for the people of Ecuador and the beauty of the country.
In in the lower left of this picture is the actual building site.

Here is the crew, gathered around the structure on which we'd been working. From left, Nathan Hull, David Strautmann, Kamron Alford, Caleb Hull, Carl Eldredge, Scott Alford, and Kyle Alford.
Meeting with some of the Awa believers during Sunday morning church services!
At least we had power tools!

Some of the views in Ecuador were phenomenal. Above is one of the many volcanoes we saw, as we traveled from the mission site in Rio Verde to Quito.
Working on the Shaub's house.
What a view!
